about the bindery
The Redbone Bindery was established in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 2002. In 2009 the bindery relocated to Ottawa, Canada.
The bindery specializes in book conservation and restoration. We also build custom book boxes for safe storage of fragile books and documents.
The Redbone Bindery stresses the importance of direct communication with clients to ensure cost-effective and satisfying results delivered in a timely manner.
As a craftsperson dedicated to furthering her knowledge in the field of book conservation and restoration, Natasha Herman, proprietor, is a member of The Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild, The Society of Bookbinders in the UK, Restauratoren Nederland in The Netherlands and the Canadian Association for Conservation.
She regularly consults with other experienced conservators and book restorers in Europe and North America so that clients can expect current and ethical decision-making about the usage of materials and techniques at the Redbone Bindery.
Enquiries are always welcome. Please phone or e-mail to make an appointment.
Natasha speaks English French and Dutch fluently.
